Small Pencils. A Bigger Beginning.
A table full of school supplies, friends ready to help, and a brighter beginning for Yonkers first graders.
At Mont Olympos Diner, members and a guest added letters and labels, then organized pencil cases for delivery to Yonkers schools. Honorary member Carole Conklin had prepared the cases—one for each of 120 first-grade classes.
Together, the project prepared 7,200 pencils for 120 first-grade classes across 40 Yonkers schools.
