President Sundra called the meeting to order
 
Members present:  Sundra, Matts, Mahbub, Bina, Alix, Peggy, Barbara, Shahid, Seeme, Jeffrey, Philippe George, Frank, Loren, Harry.
 
Guests: Mayra Tepan (prospective Member)

Meeting Highlights:
Sundra opened the Meeting. Following the Pledge of Allegiance and Invocation by Alix, Members recited the 4-way test and sang the club song.
 
Happy Bucks in the amount of $14 were collected.
 
President Sundra updated members on the Board meeting:
--Board approved a grant of $3,000 to supplement the NYS grant of $8,000 for the Roy Letsen Memorial at St. John’s Hospital.  Board has requested the Club Foundation to issue the Check for $3,000 for St. Johns Hospital.  The check was given to Greg Arcaro, Chair of the Project.
--Board decided to participate in the Snug Harbor 9/11 Healing Garden Project and approved $1,000 towards this project.  The total portal project cost is $11,000 and will take place in the Spring in conjunction with the 2019 District Conference. This District project involves planting eco-friendly trees, fixing and repainting benches.
--Greg is taking care of arrangements for our Holiday Dinner Meeting on 19 December at Old Stone Mill.
--Club will participate in the Thanksgiving Turkey donation to the Hostos School.   Barbara volunteered to handle the collection of funds, collection of the turkeys and taking them to the Hostos School.
--The Pajama Program will end on Thursday 8 November.  Bina, Mahbub, Alix  and Seeme will hand over the collected Pajamas at the Yonkers Montessori School on Woodlawn Avenue.
--Jeffrey will coordinate our participation in the Toys for Tots program.
 
Mahbub brought in the new Retractable Club banner, which had been ordered earlier.  The badges for new members and New Member kits also came in.
 
Shahid spoke about Membership and it’s importance. He added we need to work on Membership and considered it as blood line of any club. He stressed on bringing prospective members to meeting, involvement is important, Our club is a very diverse club and he further added that everyone should be humble to each other.  Members who didn’t pay their yearly dues will be terminated in December.

Harry spoke about Diwali the Indian festival also called celebration of lights.

Friendship Exchange to Mumbai is in February.

Information for filing the Club and Foundation's Tax Returns will be given to Accountant this week, so that the filing can be done by the deadline of 15 November.
 
Mahbub announced that he and Bina are going to the Governor-Elect Training in Norfolk, VA.
 
Sundra said there will be no meeting on 21 November due to Thanksgiving.
 
Sundra adjourned meeting.
