The Rotary Club of Yonkers-East Yonkers's first ever Filibuster for Community Projects Fundraiser will be from 9 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, until 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 7.
Club President Alan Gray will attempt a 25½ hour "filibuster" to break the record for the longest solo speech in the history of the U.S. Senate, currently held by New Jersey Senator Cory Booker!
The fundraiser can be watched in person (location TBD) and also will be livestreamed via YouTube.
Each 15 minutes of the filibuster can be sponsored by one or more people, organizations, or businesses.
The price for each 15-minute sponsorship varies depending on the 15-minute time slot selected and how much the sponsor wants to control the content during their slot.
15-Minute Time Slots (first come, first served):
- Standard — between 10 p.m. on Saturday and 5 a.m. on Sunday
- Popular — between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday, and between 5 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on Sunday
- Prime — between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Saturday; between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Saturday; and, between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday
Sponsorship Levels
- Basic Level — your information appears on screen for your 15-minute time slot (e.g., name, company name, logo/banner, contact information)
- Content Provider Level — Basic Level perks, plus you get to pick the content for your 15-minute slot (e.g., give us a topic, a script, or anything in between)
- Speaker Level — Basic Level perks, plus you get to speak yourself during your 15-minute slot (in person or by Zoom) — and, Alan gets a break 😝
