As in previous years, our Club has supported community service projects that benefit Yonkers residents and are sponsored by not-for-profit organizations. This year we have provided supporting grants for 10 projects with grants starting at $500 per project. In 2016 Community Service Grants were awarded to 11 Organizations: (in no particular order).
Fine Arts Orchestral Society of Yonkers, Inc. (Yonkers Philharmonic) – payment for visiting musicians
Queen’s Daughters – Traveling Farm Visits
Cluster – Summer Day Camp
Yonkers on the Move – Fitness through walking
Greyston Foundation – Community Gardens program
Food Bank of Westchester – Plant gardens with youths with emotional/physical disabilities and incarcerated youths/adults
St. John’s Riverside Hospital – Wigs for cancer patients
Yonkers Historical Society – Support of quarterly newsletter
Family Service Society of Yonkers – Kinship Summer Youth Program (for children who are being raised by grandparents
YWCA White Plains and Central Westchester (Encore Plus Breast Cancer Outreach) – Promote breast cancer awareness to low-income seniors, African-Americans, and Latina women in Yonkers
Volunteer NY! (Tie Dye Art Therapy Program) – Art therapy program for children at St. Elizabeth Seton Children’s Foundation in Yonkers

Provide funding to support the purchase of healthy snacks for children served throughout the year by Therapeutic Childcare and Arts-based Therapy Programs.

Provide support for their Food Pantry, specifically for a food cart plus shelving and bins for display of items.

Provide for educational/learning tools for early childhood patrons, specifically 1 I-pad and security case.

Provide for SMART and Summer Reading Buddies Program for literacy and educational materials for Program use.

CLUSTER Community Services |
Provide for CLUSTER Summer Camp Program for low-income households or those residing in homeless shelters.

Yonkers Public Library (One Larkin Plaza) |
Provide for “Community Heroes Fair” in coordination with their Summer 2015 Reading Program Theme – Every Hero Has a Story.
